Ms. Beck is responsible for the direction and management of L+M Structural, the firm’s structural engineering practice.  Offering expertise in both existing and new structures, she oversees the analysis, design, repair, and rehabilitation of commercial and residential structures. Ms. Beck joined the firm in 2000.

 

Projects

Ms. Beck’s abilities are evident in the following areas and representative projects.

Her experience in the physical condition assessment and repair of parking garages includes overseeing the structural repair of parking garages at Village East Towers, Columbia University Medical Center in Manhattan and Kent Village and 75 Henry Street in Brooklyn, NY.

She had directed sidewalk and vault repair for such clients as the Grace Church School, Columbia University Medical Center, New York University, and the landmarked Beresford Apartments, all in New York City.

Ms. Beck has designed plaza replacements for The Biltmore in Palm Beach, Florida;    Skyline Towers in Queens, NY; Takar Condominiums in Yonkers, NY; The Promenade in The Bronx, NY; and The Doric in Union City, New Jersey.

Her roof and balcony repair projects include several residential towers: American in Queens, NY; Big Six Tower also in Queens, NY; and Sun & Surf Condominiums in Palm Beach, Florida.

Among her new residential and commercial building projects are an office/school building in The Bronx, NY; Park Avenue Supply in Brooklyn, NY; and the residential building 217-227 South Waverly Street, Yonkers.

And she has provided structural support services for miscellaneous mechanical and electrical upgrade projects including analyzing the capacity of existing support structures such as steel dunnage, or concrete beams or slabs, design and analysis of new supports including steel dunnage for Chillers, A/C units, and cooling towers.

 

Education, Registrations and Organizations

Ms. Beck has a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Cornell University and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Columbia University. A licensed engineer in the states of New York, Florida and New Jersy, she is a member of American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE); the Structural Engineering Institute (SEI) American Concrete Institute (ACI); the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC); and the International Concrete Repair Institute (ICRI).
